Dental Crowns in the Virgin Islands

A Brief Summary of the Following Article

  • Procedure: Fitting a dental crown involves at least two visits in order to complete the initial shaping and temporary crown placement. This is followed by fitting and cementing the final crown for a new and beautiful tooth.
  • Benefits: Dental crowns offer multiple benefits, including replacing missing teeth, supporting misshapen or badly broken teeth, and fixing smile and chewing issues.
  • Versatility: Crowns address major dental problems caused by accidents, diseases, or wear, using materials like high-grade porcelain or gold, and can alleviate pain from cracks or old fillings.
  • Comprehensive Care: VI Dental Center offers a wide range of services beyond crowns, including root canals, extractions, and more, aiming to improve oral health and smiles with personalized attention.
Most dentistry looks like a patient has gotten work done, but our goal is to provide undetectable dentistry so that our patients feel confident with the improved and natural-looking appearance of their smiles. We replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth. Where damage to a person’s teeth is extreme and apparently beyond repair, we can use porcelain crowns to make the smile look like new.

This is a highly reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. We are renowned for the quality of our work and the fantastic changes we make for people using this technology. These treatments are a long-lasting correction of major dental problems. It is usual for these treatments to last for over 20 years, which is as close to permanent as dental treatment can be. Contact VI Dental Center to make an appointment and get more information.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown?

Fitting a crown requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal. Once these temporary crowns are made, we can schedule another appointment and use the molds to create perfect crowns made just for you.

On the subsequent visit, we will remove the temporary crown and then fit and adjust the final crown. Finally, we will cement the crown into place, and you will have a new and beautiful tooth.

Key Benefits of Dental Crowns
  • There are many benefits of utilizing dental crowns, including:
  • They replace missing teeth
  • They offer support to misshapen teeth or badly broken teeth
  • They look completely natural
  • They fix aesthetic and functional chewing problems

If you have any questions about crown fittings and other alternative treatments we can provide, don’t hesitate to contact us. The team of dedicated dental providers at VI Dental Center can answer your questions and provide invaluable information and guidance. We look forward to hearing from you.

What are the capabilities of crowns?

Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused by accidents, diseases, or wear and tear. The material used in these repairs is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold. A higher strength of these materials is recommended to treat the most serious dental problems. However, certain materials with lower strengths or densities may be appropriate for more minor issues.

Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, teeth that have broken away through excessive wear, or old fillings that have broken, crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution. However, your dentist may recommend short-term solutions for this accidental damage before using a crown or bridge.

In short, crowns can provide increased comfort and improve your quality of life while being a long-lasting alternative to other treatments. However, crowns are not necessarily a solution for every dental issue you might experience, so we recommend you speak with a qualified and dedicated dental provider for assistance.

When you contact VI Dental Center, we can schedule an appointment so we can assess you for any issues and make personalized recommendations based on your unique needs. While crowns can address many problems, we understand they are not the answer to every dental problem. We want to help you make the best decisions possible for your oral health and the look of your smile.
